No More Facebook

Dear Facebook,

We’ve been together for such a long time. Our relationship started off really well. You gave me great joy and excitement. I never could have imagined that I would one day decide to leave you. But that time has now come.

I know, I know, I know what you’re thinking. “Ben, you’ve done this before and what happened? You came crawling back to me, begging for more friends and for more dopamine hits with my notifications. You know you can’t live without me.”

Alright FB, you are right. At least with what I’ve done in the past. But something has really changed. This time it really is much different. I realized how you have played me. I wasn’t the only one for you. I was just one of many that you deceived and lured into your trap. But this time it really is goodbye.

I’m going to solely focus on my website. I kicked WordPress to the curb, and ole what a mistake that was. I won’t do that again. No more FB. Now there is just WP.

I’m already having some withdrawals. People are already asking. I know your tactics and what you will seek to do to make me doubt my decision.

You know how sometimes people say, “It’s not you, it’s me.” Well, it actually is YOU.

I CAN DO and SO CAN YOU. Life is all about having the right kind of attitude. We will face challenges. We have to decide how we will respond. Getting an ICD (Internal Cardio-Verter Defibrillator) in 2010 forced me to make a decision about my mindset. I decided that I CAN DO. What about you? Let's go.
